Site. We have served our
community for almost 50 years, thanks to the personal generosity of thousands of contributors
and hundreds of United Way volunteers.
Our role in
building a strong and vibrant community is one
that United Way takes very seriously. In
today’s rapidly changing world, we must address
the development of safe communities by nurturing
successful children, strong families and
lifelong health and independence. The United Way
of Gaston County is committed to a leadership
role in defining the vision of a strong
community and to making that vision a reality.
The spirit of
community is very much alive as evidenced by
United Way’s success. By building upon this
strength, we can be even more supportive of all
who call Gaston County home. Last year our 31
member agencies helped over 800,000 times
here in Gaston County.
 We
hope that you will find the information included
in the cyberspace format and donated by the Gaston
Gazette to be valuable. We seek to
involve our local citizens in the issues and success
stories of our community. Through these
'on-line' pages, it is our goal to encourage and inspire you to become part of the
United Way's mission to increase the
organized capacity of people to care for one
another.
